October 22-23, 2002
Millikan Boardroom
California Institute of Technology
Pasadena, CA
Meeting Information
The purpose of the review is a technical
evaluation by outside experts of both the scientific and engineering results
in all disciplinary areas of the Caltech ASCI Alliance Center's work and integration
and scalability issues both within and across disciplines. A Review Team (RT)
appointed by DOE and representing experts from academia and the national laboratories
will review the center and provide a written report that highlights progress,
points out areas of concern, and provides constructive recommendations to the
Centers, DOE Headquarters and Laboratory management.
Integration and scalability issues are considered to be an important part of
this review including multi-physics, physics and computational mathematics,
and computer science. However, the review will also focus on significant scientific
and engineering breakthroughs that have occurred in the individual disciplines
or across disciplines.
The Center will discuss its plans for large-scale, 3-D, multiphysics simulations
on full ASCI systems in the coming year.
This web page will serve as the main source for information distribution. As
details become available, they will be posted here.
